We are the Downtown Development Commission (DDC) of St. John’s, Newfoundland. We aim to make the downtown a more attractive place to live, shop, work and visit while preserving and enhancing it as the dominant commercial center of St. John’s. View Page

The members of the Downtown Development Commission are people who live, work, and love downtown St. John’s. We are interested in the growth and prosperity of the area, and aim to ensure that it continues to be a central part of the city. View Page


Over the years the DDC has been involved in a number of projects that are applicable to our mandate. We often partner with the city and other organizations, and will continue to invest in projects that benefit the downtown area and our members. View Page

Over the years the Downtown Development Commission has commissioned and sponsored several studies and reports in relation to downtown. These reports date as far back as the 1960′s and up to the most recent released in March 2003. View Page


This new program will also be key in assisting building owners attract and retain tenants and help build civic pride among the local business community. Read More
