Doors open at 3pm for a 3:30pm start time. Purchasing tickets in advance through the Holy Heart Box Office is highly recommended. \nThe Seafarer’s Requiem is a Celtic and classical fusion that combines the Requiem Mass and seafarer songs with tales of true stories taken from archives and documentaries about mariners and the people they leave behind. \nArtistic director: Stephen Candow\nFemale storyteller: Anita Best\nMale storyteller: Jim Payne\nSoprano soloists: Adriana Power and Rebekah Lee\nMezzo-soprano soloist: Alanna Fraize\nTenor soloist: Kingsley Alozie\nBass soloist: Nick Leblanc\nAccompanied by: several members of The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra\nHost: Paula Gale of CBC Radio’s The Broadcast \nComposed by Mary Knickle\, The Seafarer’s Requiem is a profoundly haunting piece. It was written to honour those who have lost their lives at sea\, be they: fishermen\, solo sailors or naval personnel\, and those left on land.

On June 7\, some of Newfoundland and Labrador’s finest artists are lending their talents to support the future of folk arts in this province. Every ticket purchased and every donation made against our debt will help rebuild the festival\, the programs\, and the spaces where our traditions\, stories\, and music can thrive.
