Hammock Heidi

Heidi is a Southern Shore native, living in St. John’s and has been exploring the world of aerials for about 4 years now. As a full time therapist in the city, Heidi’s favourite hobby is finding new ways to spin in and out of tangles with fun climbs and fast drops.

Heidi was introduced to aerial hammock through Cirque’letics and initially thought it would be a fun way to exercise that turned into one of her favourite things to do! Aerial hammock has provided Heidi with new and supportive ways to find expression through art, movement, and most importantly, community.

Live Canvas

“Live Canvas” an interactive sensory art performance with live music, where the audience will be invited to experience something unique. Paint and brushes will be available, and the performer/living statue, Vanessa Cardoso-Whelan, will serve as a blank canvas to be painted by the public. By engaging with the performer the spectator can witness reactions from the “Live Canvas”, as she transforms with the mix of different colours, shades and textures created by each person. The Living Statue moves according to the emotions felt from the public’s energies; a small change in the pose, a simple breath, or a kind look. The performance will be set to live music, by musician Ana Luísa Ramos, setting up the atmosphere while sound-scaping the ambiance.
Ana Luísa Ramos and Vanessa Cardoso-Whelan are dynamic Brazilian artists based in St. John’s, NL, known for their innovative collaborations that blend music and movement.
