Motorists are advised that snow removal and/or street widening operations are scheduled from Wednesday, February 4 2026 at 11:00 pm until Thursday, February 5 2026 at 6:00 am, and vehicles must be removed during snow removal operations. To avoid being ticketed or towed, vehicles should be moved from the following 13 streets in the Downtown St. John’s Business Commission Area before the operations begin.
1. Adelaide St (New Gower St to Water St)
2. Bates Hill (Queen’s Rd to Duckworth St)
3. Cathedral St (Queen’s Rd to Duckworth St)
4. Church Hill (Queen’s Rd to Veteran’s Sq)
5. Church Hill (Gower St to Duckworth St)
6. Duckworth St (Prescott St to Queen’s Rd)
7. George St (Queen St to Water St)
8. Mcbride’s Hill (Duckworth St to Water St)
9. New Gower St (Barter’s Hill to Duckworth St)
10. Prescott St (Duckworth St to Water St)
11. Queen St (New Gower St to Water St)
12. Waldegrave St (New Gower St to Water St)
13. Water St (Waldegrave St to Prescott St)
- Please note snow removal and/or street widening operations are scheduled overnight for 10 more streets in the downtown area outside the Downtown St. John’s Business Commission Area.

Vehicles impeding the snow removal operation will be removed and impounded at the owner’s expense. The towing and administration fee is $250, and the impounding fee is $25 each day the vehicle is held in storage. If proof of registration and insurance is not provided, the vehicle can only be towed (not driven) from the impound lot.
