Thrive St. John’s Street Reach has expanded to include a full time street-based outreach service Downtown

Two Thrive St. John’s Street Reach Outreach workers will be on the streets of downtown St. John’s generally between the hours of 10:00 am to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm daily, Monday thru Friday (with the exception of Friday mornings).

Resources may vary depending on donations and funding, but generally outreach workers will make available:

During extreme weather staff will make every effort to provide supplies that would minimize risks

Supporting citizens and business in the downtown

If you live and/or work in the downtown core and identify someone who may need support, you can call the Outreach Workers to request assistance. Call Jodi or Andrew at (709) 351-1070

Downtown Pedestrian Mall to Open June 20

The Downtown Pedestrian Mall (DPM) will open on June 20, and will run until September 2, 2024. Operating daily from noon until 10 p.m., Water Street from Adelaide Street to Prescott Street will transform into a bustling vehicle-free, people-friendly zone.

The Downtown Pedestrian Mall will be enhanced with a variety of new activities, including:  

In addition to the above initiatives and events, there will be pop-up events each Friday throughout the summer showcasing local entertainers. The City also provides free space on the Downtown Pedestrian Mall for organizations to get creative and engage with the community. More information is available on the City’s Downtown Pedestrian Mall webpage.
