The City will be completing sewer cleaning and video inspections on Water Street from Queen Street to Prescott Street between April 29 and May 10. The sewer cleaning will begin on the west end of Water Street at Queen Street, then move east to Prescott Street. This work is required to assist with the planning for the complete rehabilitation of the brick sewer which is the final step of the Water Street Infrastructure Improvement Project to be completed at a later date.

Motorists should expect some traffic delays and lane reductions to accommodate cleaning equipment as well as periodic loss of parking spaces. All work will be completed Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and flagpersons will be onsite to direct traffic. Special attention will be paid to accessible spaces, loading zones and metrobus stops and they will be avoided or accommodated as required.

A representative will be on site at all times to address any concerns that businesses, property owners or residents may have. The City of St. John’s apologizes for any inconvenience and should you have questions or concerns please contact Access St. John’s by calling 311 or 709-754-CITY (2489), via the app 311 St. John’s, or by email access@stjohns.ca.
